Jason Smith (Kootenai, Assiniboine, and Sioux) is a devoted advocate for Tribal communities, bringing a wealth of experience to his role as Director of the Montana Consortium for Urban Indian Health. With a career rooted in public service, Jason has worked extensively to integrate Tribal voices into state policy discussions. His diverse roles include building Tribal economies, advocating for Tribal Sovereignty, serving as and serving as the Director of Indian Affairs for Governor Steve Bullock. Committed to expanding culturally appropriate healthcare access, Jason passionately leads initiatives that address the unique needs of Urban Indian populations. Recognizing the importance of community support, he actively contributes to the Headwaters board, understanding that collective efforts are crucial for community well-being. Jason Smith’s journey underscores his unwavering commitment to advancing the interests and health of Tribal communities.
