Tillie Stewart
Tillie Stewart (Apsaalooke) from Lodge Grass, Montana, serves as the Data and Research Manager for the Montana Consortium for Urban Indian Health. With a background in Microbiology from Montana State University, she brings both scientific expertise and a deep commitment to culturally informed, community-driven research practices.
Tillie’s experience spans program coordination, environmental health research, and community organizing. Tillie is passionate about community-serving efforts in her community of the Crow Reservation, dedicating herself to environmental research and initiatives that address local health challenges and empower her community.
Through her leadership and research, she prioritizes the voices and needs of Indigenous populations, creating pathways toward culturally relevant, community-driven solutions. Tillie is a founder and active member of the Biawaatchaache Collective, addressing environmental issues impacting Indigenous communities. Her commitment to culturally informed, community-led research will be invaluable to our mission.
